GOA: Beach weekend get-away with the girls

[For those of you who didn’t read my last post, I decided to go to Goa (a beach town in India with great food, good wine, and lots of tourism) for the weekend with Aditi and Shivani. My mom’s friend from the States, Trisha, has a sis-in-law, Ameera, who lives in Mumbai. Ameera has a daughter who is my age named Aditi. I went over to their house for dinner to meet them and we totally hit it off. Aditi and her friend Shivani were going to Goa for the weekend and invited me along.]

Goa was spectacular! We stayed at Ameera’s friend’s house – a couple from London, named Odette and Hunter. Their house was absolutely gorgeous – an older Portuguese style house sitting right along the river, with a beautiful swimming pool. The whole weekend was a blast and sooo relaxing. It was a little vacation for me away from yoga – the first non-yoga related adventure of the India trip. We slept in every morning, had the most delicious breakfasts filled with so many Indian fruits, and then hung by the pool in our floaties, drinking beers and listening to music. We literally ATE OUR WAY through Goa. I don’t think we stopped eating. We went to a bunch of great restaurants and beach clubs for lunch. We rented a cabana on the beach one evening and drank + picked on appetizers until the sun went down. One night we went to Shivani’s aunts house (which they just built and is absolutely stunning) for dinner – barbecue meats and fresh crabs. One day we got the most DELICIOUS burgers ever from one of the top burger joints in the entire country (obviously India is primarily vegetarian, so there aren’t many burger spots, but still this place was SO DAMN GOOD and quite possibly the best burger I have ever had (aside from In-N-Out 😉 ). We laughed our asses off all weekend and made memories. So grateful for this little beach get-away with the best of new friends ❤
